Pax West 2018 has had a few new game announcements, but I couldn’t be more excited to hear Double Damage Games announce Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. A prequel to 2015’s Rebel Galaxy, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw looks to be played more from a first person cockpit view rather than the third person outside view. Double Damage Games, via their announcement interviews, has said they want to focus more on story and action. The traversable space will be “tighter” in order to realize a better story and keep the player on track while still providing the same great Rebel Galaxy atmosphere. They have also said that the player will have access to a radio within their ship that has over 21 hours of great music (anyone who played the first game will know Double Damage knows how to put together a catchy tune). While Rebel Galaxy appears in the Cache, I did put in around ten hours before diving into other games and have since wanted to jump back into the pilot seat. Rebel Galaxy Outlaw may be the catalyst to do just that. Word is we can expect Outlaw to come out early 2019.
